5 Ways to cool down when pregnant during summer

Pregnant in the summer? Bathing in a pool of sweat? Yes I FEEL YOU! Being pregnant usually brings on the sweats, and being pregnant during the summer months takes this sweat to a whole different level. Finding ways to cool down during this time is essential, in my meaning. So I want to help you out along the way with a couple of things that has helped me fight the heat.

Frozen grapes.

This was and is my favorite way to cool down. It is SOOO good! Just throw a bunch of grapes into the freezer, wait a few hours, and enjoy them straight from the freezer. It taste just like a pear flavored popsicle. But without the added sugar, so with less guilt. Zero reasons to not try this, right in this moment.

Get in a pool or the ocean.

You’ve heard me give this solution to a bunch of different issues, because it simply is THE solution to most problems. Whatever comes your way, throw yourself in a pool and you will feel better! Let the sweat and aches and weight all elevate off of your shoulders for a little bit.

A cool foot bath.

You know how when it’s cold, the best way to keep your heat is by ensuring that you head and toes stay warm? This works just as well the other way around. If you want to cool down, start with your feet (and possibly head if you’re desperate). Draw yourself a cool foot bath. Sit back in a comfortable chair with a good book, and let that cool water give you some relief!

Ice cold fruity sparkling water.

Get some frozen fruits or berries, I love raspberries and strawberries for this. Mix it in a blender with a bit of sparkling water until it’s smooth. Then add more sparkling water and carefully stir it (if you want sparkles, this part is IMPORTANT as the bubbles will go away in the blender). And enjoy! Ice cold, sweet, but no added sugar. How great? So great!

A cold wheat bag (the ones you usually use warm on your neck) when going to bed.

You know the wheat bags that you heat up and use for your achy neck? This is a perfect tool to use for the summer sweats, but in the opposite way. Toss it in the freezer instead of the microwave, and take out when going to bed. Place behind your neck or on your forehead for a cool relief when trying to sleep.
